Before Rhinoplasty Surgery

Before rhinoplasty surgery, various tests such as blood tests are requested and a comprehensive examination is performed. According to the facial features, the desired results of the rhinoplasty surgery are determined and the surgery is planned. Photographs of the nose and face can be taken from various angles and can be used to evaluate the long-term results of the surgery.

How is Rhinoplasty Surgery Performed?

Rhinoplasty operations are usually performed under general anesthesia.

If simpler procedures are to be applied, local anesthesia may also be preferred. During the surgery, the nose is reshaped with the procedures which are performed on cartilage and bone. The procedure usually takes 1-2 hours. This may take longer depending on the type of surgery.

After Rhinoplasty Surgery

After rhinoplasty surgery, patients can be discharged on the same day or stay in the hospital for 1 night.

After the rhinoplasty surgery, splint or dressings are used for 1-7 days to maintain the shape of the nose. During the healing period, it is necessary to avoid strenuous exercises such as jogging and excessive facial movements that will force the nose. It is important to be careful when wearing clothes such as shirts and sweaters.
